Algeria and the 2017 African Cup of Nations
The 2017 African cup of Nations edition will take place in January 2017 in Libreville, Gabon.
The tournament is held once in every two years.
Sixteen countries managed to make it including the hosts Gabon after they qualified successfully.
Our focus for today will be on Algeria alias “The Desert Lions” and their chances of winning the forthcoming African cup of Nations.
Algeria is ranked among the top African teams by the world Football Governing body; FIFA. Globally it is ranked position 35, and position one in Africa. It has won the cup once in 1990.
In their last twelve matches, Algeria managed to win eight, drawn three and lost one thus classifying it as a strong team with a good display.
The country has high profile players who play in top world clubs:-
Riyad Mahrez (Leicester), Yacine Brahine (Porto), Islam slimani (Leicester), El Arabi Soudani (Dinamo Zagreb).
